Stick To It

After revamping my diet since last August, I have struck a plateau for the past month.
Ok, two months.

It’s frustrating to be sure. Especially since I have been in two weight loss competitions since January at my gym. The first one we won, but it was a team effort and my team mates carried my butt all the way to the end. The latest competition is for individuals and I am once again the weakest link.

Yesterday I worked out next to the woman who has been leading the competition and I asked her what her secret was. “I just stick to the plan,” she said. I complained that I had been stuck at the same weight for some time. She didn’t believe it. “I like all your posts on MyFitnessPal.com! You lose weight all the time!”

I explained to her that sadly it is the same two pounds. I lose them every other day. The other every other day, I gain them back. But MFP only reports the losses, not the gains.

I just stick to the plan, she said. Of course! I admit, I have gotten lazy lately! We’re supposed to be eating our plan 90% of the time and 10% of the time we can cheat. I think my ratio is a bit off. I might be coloring outside the lines just a little too much.

Just stick to the plan. Sigh. Self-control has always been a challenge for me, but if I am going to hit my goals, I have to pull up my pants and dig in.

Stick to the plan.
